It’s that time of year for us northerners! Pumpkin time!
means pumpkin smoothies! You may think it's strange to put pumpkin in a smoothie. Trust me, if you like pumpkin pie and smoothies you’ll love this smoothie.
I’ve perfected this recipe to make it super nutrient packed and healthy! It's tailored to my own taste buds. If you like sweet stuff, you may want to add some sweetener. However, if health is important to you weaning your self off all sugars is imperative.
Here’s the basic recipe: for 1 serving
1/2 cup almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)
3 tbsp full fat coconut milk
1/2 cup good quality water
1/4 cup cooked or canned pumpkin
2 tsp maca powder ( i use red)
1/2 tsp prebiotic fiber
1 scoop or 2tbsp collagen or bone broth powder
1 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice blend
1/2 tsp magnesium powder
1 tsp ground golden flax
1 tsp chia seeds
1/4 frozen avocado
Dash of vanilla extract
1 tsp moringa powder or sm handful of dark greens (like spinach or kale)
1 small scoop (I don’t use the giant ones the bottles usually come with or use about hal
f of that) All natural vanilla protein powder
4-5 ice cubes
If you need more sweetness - Stevia or monk fruit to taste
For more fat content - 1 tbsp MCT oil
Mix it all up in a blender that can handle ice and smoothies.
Pour in you favorite cup and enjoy!
